President Donald Trump will attend the Republican convention in North Carolina, which begins next week in Charlotte. Details of the trip are not known, but Trump is expected to speak with delegates and attend an event in Asheville, the White House said. Republican representatives in Charlotte are expected to vote on Trump's nomination in a small face-to-face session on Monday at the party's convention in Cleveland, Ohio, July 4-5, 2017, and at the state convention in Raleigh, August 1-2. N.C. Republican leaders from across the state and the U.S. House of Representatives are expected to vote on Trump's nomination, according to the Associated Press.
The president leaves Asheville at around 5 p.m. and flies to Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, where he will board Air Force One. It is Trump's 11th visit to North Carolina and his first trip to the state since he was elected in November 2016. The president flies from Asheville to Charlotte, where he boards Marine One at 3: 30 a.m. at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg County Convention Center, then returns to Asheville at 4: 15 a.m., leaving Asheville at about 5 p.m. and returning to Greensboro at 5: 45 a.m., where he boards Marine One and flies to Asheville. From Asheville, the president leaves at 7: 40 a.m. for South Carolina, where he boarded Marines No. 1 at Asheville City Hall, before leaving Asheville for Greenville, Spartansburg, at 6: 25 a.m., and then to Atlanta at 9: 20 a.m.
It is a hurricane that begins with the President landing at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg County Convention Center at 3: 30 a.m. and then takes off from the North Carolina State Capitol in downtown Charlotte at 6: 45 a.m. He will land by helicopter and land at Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport around 5 p.m.
